Theaters in Johnson County
In the Pines Amphitheater is a 700-seat outdoor theater located on the grounds of the Mountain Homeplace at 745 KY Route 2275, Staffordsville, Kentucky. The SIPP Theater was originally built as a Vaudeville House and has hosted the greats in the entertainment world from the 1930’s to present. The theatre seats 279 and was recently renovated with a new lobby, seating improvements, and a new sound system. Please check The Historic SIPP Theatre FaceBook Page for specific times for movies, plays, concerts, and other events. On-line contestsoften allow the community to choose what movies are shown. Admission is $5 and includes a drink andpopcorn. The Main Street Players perform live theatrical productions throughout the year. The theatreis also available for rental opportunities. Main Street Players is a local community theatre housed at the Historic SIPP Theater in Paintsville, Ky. Our cast members come from across the Eastern Kentucky region. Our educational community theatre trains children and adults to produce high quality Broadway style musicals.
