We now have extended hours. Johnson County Animal Services is open each day through the week from 9am-4pm. Weekend days are by appointment only for adoptions and donations. An adoption application must be pre-approved and an in person meet and greet is required. No animal will be placed by "first come, first serve" basis. We reserve the right to refuse any application. Please monitor the Johnson County Animal Services Facebook page as animals will be posted as they become available. Adoption fee for a dog is $80, which includes spay/neuter, DAPPv, rabies vaccination, flea/tick preventative and dewormer. The Adoption fee for a cat is $60 and includes spay/neuter, FVRCP, rabies vaccination, flea/tick preventative and dewormer.

To report stray animals please continue to contact Animal Control at 606-792-6619 Monday-Friday. For reports after 4:00pm or weekends, please contact Paintsville/Johnson County 911 dispatch on the non-emergency numbers at 606-789-4221 or 606-789-2200.
